I have applied 7 places in the last month and no one is hiring! I am 17 so many do not want me, especially because this would be my first. I have applied to Target, several Wegmans locations, Famous Footwear, and several Dick's Sporting Goods locations. Help me find a place that is teen friendly! (p.s. please don't recommend applying to hollister or abercrombie, you basically have to be approached to work there)

Since you have no prior job experience that is one reason you are having a hard time finding a job. Another is the economy. Maybe you can do some house cleaning or babysitting for a while and when you have done this for a few months you can use the people you worked for as references. Just ask them before you use their name on an employment application. It's not only difficult for a teen to find a job but it is just as difficult for someone with years of experience to find one. I guess you have to start from the bottom and work your way up. Good luck to you.

congrats for giving and gaining experience at 7 places.

maybe they are not suited for your talents and a bigger and better opportunity is available in the 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th place.

Depending upon where you're located, when you'll turn 18, and if your parents will support your doing it, you may want to look at the opportunity at www.napowerbroker.com/globalmarketing as it is likely something you'd be able to do and could earn a whole lot more than taking a job offering minimum wage. You'll need to be a bit entrepreneurial and a self-starter but there's plenty of help and support available for you. Good luck.
