Slow down and stop getting too excited. You need to be relaxed. Making it obvious you are desperate to get the job is not a good start. If I ran a theatre I would not want to employ someone who wants to see the movies, I want someone who wants to do the job I have advertised. So work out what you want to say before you go. They will ask obvious questions like why have you applied for this post? Having your answers prepared before hand will impress the boss. Do your homework. Look up the company on the internet, check out how many theatres they own, how many employees they have in total etc etc. Work these facts into your answers, with comments like, I am intersted in working for an employer like your company that emplys over 2,000 people, that must mean there are promotion opportunities and the chance to gain experience in several roles.

Always have a question to ask - not just "how much is the salary and how many days holidays will I get".

Ask what training you will be given ( unless he has explained that already.)

Hope this helps. Good luck.

The first question is usually, "Tell me about yourself."

That's your chance to throw in anything you think may help you. Have you been in the AV club in school? Have you seen a lot of movies AT THAT THEATRE? (Seeing them at the multiplex in the next county is not going to help much.) If you see movies at that theatre once a month, say so.

Have you read up about the movie business generally and can you throw in information about the importance of concessions as compared to ticket sales? If you can prove to them that you know where their popcorn is buttered, so to speak, that would help. Do you know what movies have played at that theatre lately and which ones have made the most at the box offices?

Can you ask about what movies they are planning to screen? (Ie, do you know what's coming up in the industry?)

Show that you take their business seriously, and that you want to help them succeed.

It's a lot, but you say you REALLY want the job. Good luck.

-DRESS PROFESSIONALLY! Don't think just because its a movie theater that you shouldn't dress nicely. NEVER wear jeans. It may or may not hurt you. My friend went in for an interview with Jeans, and the manager just laughed at him and sent him home, even though the were nice jeans.

-EYE CONTACT. When answering questions, make sure that you make eye contact, and dont wander, they will know that you are nervous.

-FIRM HANDSHAKE. Just do it.

-DO NT LIE. Try not to lie during the interview. Just be honest, because there is a change that they could catch you in a lie.

SMILE- Show that you're optimistic about the job.

GOOD LUCK!
