I had an interview last week, i arrived 10 mn later, but i passed the interview, they told me about my position, my salary, they told me they would call me. My concern is how to apologized and explained them it was due to transportation problem, i really need the job and i am worried. Please help me.

Thanks for your answers.

I'm sorry but I've been through a lot of interviews (fast food, Walmart, etc) and the salary/position is explained to everyone they interview regardless of if they immediately know that your aren't getting the job. But that doesn't mean you aren't going to get the job. BUT if you call the and apologize they could wither perceive it as- "Oh, she understands that she was late and want to let us know that it is out of the ordinary" or "Wow, she's just making excuses". So it's a judgment call on your part. But its not like you showed up4 hours late, it was only 10 mins.

You might have been fortunate this time. If they had been really upset at you, they would not have furnished the details about the job.

But let this be a lesson to you - NEVER be late for a job interview! If necessary, leave long before you need to. It is far better to arrive early and wait around the block, than to arrive late.

Send them a thank you letter but don't remind them that you were late. Simply express thanks for their time and reinforce your interest in the job and your ability to exceed their expectations. Good luck!
