I applied for ups and they gave me the tour I called twice last week he said they he`ll take me into consideration and the position has been already filled. Should i called Again?

You CAN get in touch with UPS again to tell them that you continue to be interested in a position should another one become available. I'm not sure that calling is the best way to do it though. It can be annoying to employers to have someone calling in -- it becomes like 'stalking'. If you have an e-mail address for the person you've been dealing with, send an e-mail 'thank you' for the tour and then state your continued interest. Also -- it wouldn't hurt to ask if there is a procedure you need to follow in order to keep your application 'active'. Again, I wouldn't telephone them again, a written communication would be the best way -- either e-mail it or send it snail mail....

Nope...do not call again...you will make yourself a pest and the boss will want to have nothing to do with you. All you can do is hope a new position comes open and the boss remembers you.

I once called a company for 5 weeks. They hired me because I was so persistent. I say after the position is full call once a week and say I have a resume in and I would like to know your hiring status. If a person keeps calling employers will think they really want to work that is the guy or girl I want. Plus the new guy may not work out. Be fresh in their minds.

Stop calling, otherwise your resume/application will find the waste paper basket, instead of on file, where you want it to be !!

It depends. I have hired people just to get them to stop calling. And, they actually became our best sales agent! It doesn't hurt to call and express interests in any opening that may come available in the near future. If they are any kind of a boss that cares for their company, they should realize you would be a SERIOUS candidate. Good Luck.

Send a Thank You card for the tour, his time and consideration. Write also that you'd still be interested in hearing from them if other openings are available in the future. After you wait 8-12 weeks, you can call again to "check-in." Any closer together and your calls become a nuisance, and you'll make yourself look like someone they'd not want to hire.

PS - I hear Fed Ex treats their employees better.

Good luck!

No.

Rather than keep calling and then becoming a pest in their eyes, why not send one last letter to them along with a copy of your resume (so it is handy for them). In that letter it should be concise and have impact. You can first start off by thanking him for taking the time to answer your call and advising you of the status of that position. Next you state that you would appreciate if you could be considered for any ______ (fill in the type of position you are qualified for). Then you advise them that you feel you would be an asset to their company for the following reasons:

(then list them in "bullet" format, one after another) For example, on my old resume my bullets were:

* Negotiated annual contract for memory chips, which resulted in an annual cost savings of $2 million

You need to give them information in the format of action bullets that shows results.

Hope that helps.
