Should i list every job ive had on my resume and job applications..even if they were short term?
I've had like several jobs in the past 4 years.. half of which i have been laid off from (i was at all those a year or less) and 1 was seasonal..and one or two i left voluntarily. I have been at my current job almost 2 years so that one is no problem. Im concerned that recruiters will see my jobs and assume ive been fired from them all when that isnt true at all. Can they see all my jobs in a background check..and is it important to put all jobs no matter the length of time or relevance to the job applying for? I dont want to seem like a flake or irresponsible..i have matured a alot since those jobs. Help..and opinions would be great appreciated..thanks!

Previous jobs don't show up in a background check. It's better to have more than one job in the experience section of your resume, but you also want to avoid gaps in employment. Being laid off once in this economy is understandable, but I wouldn't put them all. What was the job before this one? Can you spin the responsibilities to fit the needs of the job you're looking for? |
