Should I put my degree down on a resume before I have it?

I''m looking for a new job and was wondering if I should put a degree down on my resume if i don't have it yet but going to get it? The reason I'm asking this because I going to have my bachelor in business management next year in July.

And do employers like people who do this?

any information would be helpful

You can't put it down that you have a degree, no way. That would not be good because its a lie and they would find it out when they asked for your transcripts.

Put down the date you started school, your major, the school and put "Expected Graduation - July 2011".

Your degree is a work in progress, they will understand this. GL.

Put something like:

Columbia College, BA, December 2010

or

Columbia College, BA in Economics, expect to graduate June 2011.

Absolutely not! A resume only includes actual experience and education completed. If you have attended XYZ University, your resume under the education section will read:

XYZ University, City, State Major: Business Management

Attended: 9/2007 - current, 87 credit hours to date, GPA: 3.70

If, of course, you are a student in good standing who will be returning for Fall Semester.

In your cover letter you mention you are currently a student at XYZ majoring in Bus Mgmt, and that you expect to graduate with BBA in July 2011.

I would use the phrase "anticipated graduation date" or "expected graduation date" on the resume. This is not lying, just don't try to hide this information by burying it in a paragraph or using a smaller font or something. The only reason I suggest this is because many companies use software that rejects resumes without specific words (the particular words/phrases are determined by the company). They do this to weed out the resumes that don't fit the criteria they need and reduce the amount of time required to determine viable candidates. Including a bachelor's degree could pass the machine test. Then a human will review it and decide if they want to interview you. A person could be impressed enough with the rest of your resume/cover letter to want to interview you.

Hey man, just put down "expected graduation date:" instead of the year on that part. But then again, I never actually sent my resume out. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy filling it out, doesn't it?
