Should I include Hobbies on a resume if they are job oriented?

I would think a bank might like that I analyze the stock market to see trends. A restaurant might like to know I cook souffles at home. many employers might like to see I am learning 13 languages at home.

It all depends on the industry. I've been a recruiter for a payroll company and a library - Not once have I really cared what hobbies an individual had. I AM interested if they belong to any professional job related organizations. When I was hired as a HR Manager, I did list my volunteer work with the PTA as president and treasurer They were interested in whether or not I ever worked with or supervised volunteers.

I would imagine that there MAY be some careers that are interested in hobbies, but not many. Certain skills such as the ability to speak different languages may be of interest (if you are actually able to speak them). You can "say" that you cook souffles at home, but if you can show you did it in a job or at a reputable school or something along those lines, it would be even better.

Save the resume space to talk about your skills.
