Should I continue on to my master's degree, or start my career in my current situation?

I am 26 years old, unemployed, have a 3 year old boy, and a child on the way (4 months pregnant).

My husband works as a server, making minimal amounts of money right now, and plans on going back to school once I am finished with my school.

**He personally wants me to finish my masters as he feels this would make me happy, and make my more hire-able, and give me better benefits with better pay**

I just completed my bachelors right now, and feel that I am at a cross roads right now.

Some say I should continue with school, making myself more hire able, giving myself more options to move up--- saying that going back to school later is really hard.

Others say that because I am getting older (getting close to 30) I should be getting into the work force now considering now that I will have less time to contribute to retirement.

**we live extremely cheap, and I have been blessed to go through school without taking out any loans**

Do you think it would be unwise to stay out of the workforce now... focusing on school and being a mother?---- or should I go ahead and start working?

Finish school. If you dont do it now you might never, and that you will always regret.

What is your degree in.

In some professions a masters does not pay off at all.

Such as engineering.

You can work AND go to school Experience is everything. Most employers look at experience over education unfortunatly. From what my elders tell me a masters degree only matters in promotions not entry level and EVERYONE has to start entry level. At 26 with kids you might want to consider getiing into the workforce now...you have plenty of time to get your masters. Personally, I didn't go staight for my masters because I didn't want to take anymore loans out but it's not a big deal to me at 24. I rather have a company pay for me to get my masters and get experience under my belt...

IT's hard trying to get a job as a college graduate with no experience but not impossible.

You will have a very difficult time getting a job in anthoropology.

If you want to get a job in a related field, you have no choice but to get your masters.
