Should I change my career at age 24?

Category: Other

I went to school for IT (Information Technology) and got finished with school in 2008 at the age of 22.

A few months after finishing school I started my career in Information tech. support and worked with that company for about a year before getting laid off.

A few months after getting laid off i got another job as a IT support specialist and I've been working there for about 5 months. After 4 months, I just found out they are not about to give me salary wage after my 4 month trial...

My Question is:

I don't really like working in IT anymore, I want a change..i want something new , something different, but what? (and I'm about to turn 25)

I know i want to travel outside of the US, i have a few thousand,

but I just don't know what my next career move should be?

If I change my career what should it be next? Should I travel while I'm still young?

Suggestions and options appreciated,

Thanks.

Personally i dont think u should change, as u dont know what u really like to change to, and as u only have a few thousands dollars left. Only yourself know which career u like, and the high marks in school may give u an indication, or preferrably u need to see a career counsellor. Also, withour an analysis of yoru preference, it is possible that u wont like your new career too.

If travel is what u want now, go ahead, but u may find that upon your return, your chance of getting a job may be less unless your travel days are short becaue employers will question why u are off work for months.

I think it okay to change career right now because your heart is not into it. Do what you really love to do and be sure that you are up to it. Otherwise, " grow where you are planted". :)
