Should I call and check up on my application? Havent gotten a call yet?

So i called burlington coat factory to ask the manager id they were hiring, he said yes come on in and pick up a application at the customer service desk. So I said ok. I was really happy to hear that a store was actually hiring, i am in a desperate need of a job. So anyway, On Thursday april 15 i went in ask for a application, the women gave me one, i filled it out in the store and waited in line to hand it to the manager. She said "are you all done hon"? I said yes handed it to her and she told me "Ill make sure he gets it." She was talking about the head manger of the store, they person i spoke to, so i said ok. And anyway, its now Thursday and i ha vent gotten a call yet. Should I check up on the application? I mean I really need this job. But i don't want to annoy the managers if they haven't gotton to it yet. What should I

It never really hurts to call and check on an application after a week, but you should know that the Store Manager doesn't really handle that part of the business. He/she has a personnel manager that takes care of those sort of things, so that is who you should ask for if you call in to check on it. The store manager may be the final signoff on who is hired or fired, but they are not the first step in climbing that job ladder. |
