Should I Attend This Interview? Already applied and was not hired at the same place.?
So, this is random, but...
I interviewed at this place about 3 months ago. A Japanese restaurant. Since then I have applied at many places including other Japanese restaurants. I have a BA in Japanese and used to live in Japan, so I thought I was especially qualified. After being turned down by many places for a simple wait staff job (which I consider myself overqualified for), I changed my resume, lied and said I worked at a Japanese restaurant for 2 years in the past.
That is my main problem though. When I first had the interview, they saw my old resume without my "experience" at a Japanese restaurant. Now I am supposed to go in with my fake resume. Should I go? I need advice fast as the interview is tomorrow.

Chances are they won't have record or remember your past resume. The only problem you could run into is if you get the same person who interviewed you last time. They may remember your lack of experience. But what can you lose by going in? If they do remember, no big deal and you move on. At least give yourself the chance to get the job. |

I'd go, the worse that could happen is rejection, which you've already experienced. You'll be wondering if management changed, if the same person would have interviewed me, if they would remember me, if I would have got the job, and you won't know the answer to any of those questions unless you go. I say go for it, and good luck! |

Yeah, there's a good chance that the same person will interview you unless they changed in management over that course of time. There's a 50/50 chance that they'll will remember you since it wasn't that long ago that you applied at the same place. I can't tell you what to do. But if I was in your position, I would not go because it hasn't been that long. |
