Resigned from my job?

Hi all,
Today I resigned from a bar-job. I've been working there for nearly 5 months and I've been having such a hard time with management and other staff, they've been treating me like crap. The past 3 weeks they've also been giving part-timers more hours than me and so today I asked them how quickly I could affect my resignation and they said today.
It's really frustrating that I had to do that though. I really do nothing but hard work there, but the whole culture of the place is very cliquey and I just dont get involved with all that. I'm also made to feel stupid there quite often. I'd just had enough basically.
Now, I'm resigning into unemployment. I'm alright for money for now, and I'm hoping to land a new job ASAP. Pehaps even in the Navy as an Officer or Military Police.
Do you think I did the right thing getting out of there? Would you stick around if your working environment was so miserable?

I think you did the right thing - specially if you have other options. Life is too short to be miserable at work. You gave it a go, it didn't work out, you moved on. Nothing wrong with that. |
