Recruiter and Salary Question?

Category: Other

jaja

I am content at my current job. A recruiter contacted me so I thought "why not, what do I have to lose?" However, the only way I would leave my current job is if I was alot higher salary at this new position. Here is my question - in my initial discussion with the recruiter, do I tell them upfront my salary requirements or try to avoid salary discussion at all costs? I've always been instructed to avoid/delay salary discussion, if possible, during an interview; does the same apply with a recruiter? This is my first time working with one, and I really don't want to waste both their and my time.

You are in the position of power here. They want you and you already have a job so just tell them your bottom dollar. That way you won't be wasting your time like you say. When a person already has a job then the ball is in their court, especially if a recruiter is after you. Most likely you have a specific skill that he needs for a client and he is just trying to deliver for them.

AGREE WITH BIG TOM

you can give them the bottom salary to them.
