Really nervous about my first part time/summer job interview?

Category: Other

Hey everyone, so I'm going for a job interview tomorrow at the Home Hardware store in my town (yeah I know it's lame but most kids either work there or the grocery store, which isn't hiring) and I was wondering if anyone has any tips? I'm kind of nervous, I really need a job to start saving up. What should I wear? Casual clothing? Also what are some dos and don'ts of job interviews I may need to know? Thank you in advance.

First of all - don't be nervous. Be calm, enthusiastic and confident during the interview,

Have you created a resume for yourself?

Microsoft Word has many templates which you could use. Make sure yours is not more than 1 page.

Wear formal clothes. Dress Smart.

Some Do's:

1. Arrive there atleast 30 mins early

2. take a print out of your resume with you

3. get ready to answer questions like - tell me about yourself and why should we hire you. - always stick to the point with the perspective of the job - say something like - i'm a very serious person and I'm a team player. I give 200% to everything I do.

4. Use a little make up, manicure your nails - basically look smart.

Some Don't:

1. Arriving late

2. chewing gum

3. taking a call on your cellphone during the interview

4. carrying coffee to the interview

All the best!
