Question about online job applications?

I am applying for jobs online and almost all of them ask this one question. Its like "if you are hired, are you able to provide verification of your legal right to work in the United States?"
What does that mean? Am I supposed to have some sort of paper first? I am 16 years old and I am trying to apply for my first job.

Don't apply online. Go to the places you hope to work and apply in person. Ask to talk to a manager so they can put a name to your face. |

It means do you have verification that you are a US citizen. Examples include, Government I.D, Birth Certificate, S.I.N card |

This is for immigrants and people visiting from other countries. But in some states if you are under 18 you have to get a work permit. when i was a kid it cost me like 10 bucks plus i needed my birth cert. and parents permission. but that is not what this question is meant for. |

Verification that you have the legal right to work in the U.S. means that you'd need to provide a birth certificate, social security card, or Driver's License/Permit if you're a naturally born U.S. citizen. Usually they'll want 2 out of 3. If not, you'd need to provide proof for when you established citizenship or legal residency |
