Hi, I'm a 21 year old college student, I currently work doing paperwork for different companies 3 times week..it sucks, trust me. My passion and main interest is within music (mixing and producing it), what jobs do you guys think a college student such as myself could obtain that would allow me to be around that kind of environment. I was thinking maybe at a guitar center or something like that. I can be really good with people, but at the same time become rather annoyed by them too as I've worked in retail for 2 years before. I don't need to make much, I just want to be surrounded by music and get paid money for it...even though it might not be a lot!

If you're serous about a career in the music business, you should really be studying Music business related courses in college. You might even be at the wrong college. For mixing and mastering and producing music, you should consider enrolling in a school like Berkley School of Music http://www.berklee.edu/majors/mbm.html - http://www.berklee.edu/majors/electronic¦ - or even Full Sail http://www.fullsail.edu/degrees/recordin¦ - or Cal State http://www.universities.com/edu/Bachelor¦ - there are not that many jobs in the music industry and the people who are getting hired have a specific education in the music business and were at the top of their class. If you doubt that, call a few A&R companies or Record companies or go to their web sites and see what they are hiring and what the requirements are.
