Pursueing a Firefighter career ?

I am 15 years old and attempting to get a good chance for becoming a firefighter.

There are no 'junior cadet fire training' programs in my area, so i decided that in 2 years, i could have a co-op placement at the fire station. Is this a good idea

I heard that they make around 50K-70K is this suitable to live off of? I expect to buy a condo near the beach in the near future.

I also heard that its really difficult to become placed, so would they tell me to go out of the province/area to be placed?

I am going to get all my training done before and during college, and i read the requirements..

I will have about 2 pre-requisites when the time comes, but wat are the chances of me getting the job?

I am determined, strong-willed and physically fit.

I would appreciate any of my questions answered, thanks.

It helps if you have an AS degree in Fire Science along with paramedic training or experience. You can start off as a volunteer with smaller departments before turning pro.

Since a lot of your career progression depends on physical fitness and testing, complete your Firefighter 1 at a local community college.

A full-time firefighter makes around $35k a year in the beginning years. This will increase or decrease based on experience and hiring levels in your city's fire department.

Your question is biased toward "go for it."
