Possible job, how long do I wait?

I was interviewed last Monday for a position, and the employer told me that she would set me up for orientation when my background check came back. I sent her a thank-you email, and didn't hear back.

I've been waiting by the phone anxiously. I would think the background check would have been back by now? I'm weary to call, as she didn't respond to my thank you letter.

How long do I wait?

You can call to follow up on the status of the background check and the position. I have sent thank you emails and have never gotten a reply from the interviewer that I sent the thank you to.
