Poor training at new job of 3 mos. and now getting passed over for promotion offered 2 me due to poor training?

I started at same company at 16 yrs old and stayed for 17 plus yrs. Took 12 years and returned to find everything has changed due to technology. I have been back for 3 mos and have had barely any training. Pretty much I have learned from mistaked and I have had to ask a million questions. I was transferred to another location with a GM position in 8 weeks if I learn all. My training has been nil and now Im getting passed over for someone else. What should I do?

Keep your current job. It's too bad, but you can't really expect a company to bring you all the way back up-to-date within 3 months after a 12 year leave of absence. If you want to eventually become a GM, then you need to start studying or taking classes in your off-hours. |
