Please let me know when you reach a hiring decision?

I interviewed for a position this past Monday. The interview went really well, and at the end of the interview she asked whether I would mind if she were to contact the references listed on my resume. I agreed and later that evening I followed up with a nice thank you letter, along with the email addresses of my references (she didn't want to call). She mentioned that she would make a hiring decision by Friday.

To make a long story short, on Thursday, I receive an email from her saying that one of my references has not responded. After I try to contact my reference with no success, I offer her the contact information of another reference and I hear no response back.

I called her Friday around 5pm, to make sure she received the information but was met with an attitude and was told it was my responsibility to get ahold of my reference. She must have misunderstood what I was trying to say, so I said thank you, and hung up.

I found out yesterday that my other reference finally sent a letter on Friday, but I don't know if she sent it by email or snail mail.

I'm writing another email to the interviewer to let her know that I got ahold of my reference and that a letter was sent on Friday. Because she said she was making a hiring decision on Friday, do you think it's okay for me to ask at the end of the email to please contact me once she's made a hiring decision?

It sounds like you're annoying this woman unintentionally, and the more contact you have by emailing and calling, the less likely she is to hire you even if you have amazing references. If they want you, they'll tell you, and if they don't they'll still tell you! It is as simple as that - don't make it more complicated than it needs to be.
