Other side "jobs" like Avon?
I'm looking to make a little extra income (I live in SC). I've looked into things like Avon, but they are a dime a dozen and most things you have to put money upfront and if you order something and no one buys it, you have to pay for it. (Kinda defeats the purpose...) I was wondering if anyone knows of a company where I can be an independent rep and make some extra money... LIKE Avon, but not. Candles, the "sex parties" that sell lingerie... stuff like that that seems to be popular and you don't end up LOSING money or have to pay just to start. Any suggestions?

WHy are you asking YA for suggestions on your independent consulting ventures? We don't know what you like to do. All of those types of "side jobs" you mentioned are essentially multi-level marketing jobs where you become an independent sales consultant for the corporate company. So common sense says for you to pick a company that has a product you love and believe you can sell because of your personal use. |

Check out Send Out Cards. A lot of Avon, Mary Kay and Tupperware consultants are using it to help grow their business. Not only is it a card sending service its a rolodex on crack that allows you to keep track of every hostess, customer, and prospect you have ever made contact. It also remembers there b-days and anniversaries. You can also 100% customize your invitations, thank you's, and follow ups without having to spend time writing out addresses and adding a personal touch. Its the the next big thing... |

All of these "jobs" you describe are actually Business Opportunities - meaning you are looking to be a business owner and with that should expect to have to invest some money - including a start-up fee. By the way, Avon actually has one of the lowest in the industry. |
