Hello

I have a technical degree and currently working on my graduate degree. I have never had fulltime or partime job, except I had an internship abroad and it was purely technical requiring no people skills. I was busy with my studies and was a full time student so I did not work, I tried looking for a job during summer and I would always get rejected because of so much competion during summers. Now in my resume I have too much education and very little job experience, when I am filling out appications it asks for ten years of work history. BEcause I have little work history and have been a student mostly, how much impact is that going to create in companies hiring decision.

Yeah, you're in a bit of a pickle. Are you looking for a professional job or a general job? If you're applying for a professional career, I don't think there's anything much to worry about because employers will not really care if you worked at let's say McDonald's. It actually doesn't look good on a professional resume to put something like that. You just need to mention your internship.

But if you're applying for a general job with your education status, employers will probably think that you're most likely not gonna stay with them, as they would rather hire people who are gonna have more of an open schedule, and not have the same future goals as you. With your education, it's gonna put them off because you're too educated for a job like retail or customer service. It's also a matter of luck and timing. There may be employers that will give you a chance. You just need to look harder.

Just create two resumes, one professional and one for general.
