1) keep your cv concise and put a brief personal statement first followed by your experience, education and references. remember to spell check it and get help with grammer if you're not confident.

2) when attending interviews dress smartly and always make an effort with your appearance

3) remember to smile and make eye contact! as nerve wracking as it is, you need to show your personality as much as possible in the interview and come across approachable.

4) when starting a new job, make eye contact with new colleagues, again remember to smile. its useful to ask little questions to other people - people love talking about themselves then offer up a small piece of information about yourself. it'll help break the ice, you'll get to know them and they will get to know you.

5) with customers: if you're working with them face to face be conscious of your body language; don't cross your arms and although im repeating myself: smile! it will put the customer at ease. if talking on the phone try to keep upbeat and 'smile' as you talk. customers really will hear your smile in your voice.

hope this helps!

You have been starting new things all your life...from starting grade school, to high school & then college. Just treat this like you did all those times. Obviously you made it through school. It should be exciting to put what you learned to work. As far, as strangers go, I'm sure that you had to deal with strangers in college. This isn't anything new either. Good Luck.
