Need some help writing a letter of resignation!?

Hey! Was hoping someone could help me devise a professional letter of resignation!

So I'll explain my situation...

I've been working at Comet as a checkout operator part time for about 5 months now and to be quite honest I'm seriously bored with it lol! I applied for the job at Christmas when, of course, it was much busier so the nature of the work was much more lively should I say - which is what I like! The job has become very dull and tedious and I'm required to just sit on the till all day which is driving me mad! I just want out...

I'm really not sure how to tell my manager that I've had enough, thank you and its been lovely working here in a professional manner!

Please help!

Thanks very much in advance :o)

Try something like this:-

Dear xxxx,

It is with some regret that I ask you to accept this letter as my formal resignation from my position as Checkout Operator.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, and in particular the buzz of the Christmas period where there was great team spirit. The time has now arrived for me to try something new and I wish you and the rest of the team here the best of luck in the future.

I would be grateful if you could inform the HR Admin Department in order that they may process the necessary paperwork.

Thank you for your support.

Yours sincerely,

xxxxxx

Myself I am of the opinion that letters are good, providing they are presented using good syntax and spelling (always use a spall chocker!). You can secure some good instruction for writing letters by checking out the website in the box below, it's got loads of alternative stuff about job seeking aswell.
