Need some advice on career choice?
Okay so I'm technically a junior in college but I'm 26 about to be 27...there were a lot of particular circumstances that made graduating on time not possible...I moved around a bit, went to a few different schools and had trouble transferring credits...at this point I just want to be finished with school and start my life already.
I have Pell grants an student loans that will take care of tuition....I think I coul get through in a yeasr if I really focus and dedicate my life entirely to my studies, which I'm not at all oppossed to doing. I'll be going to USF in Tampa and as of right now I'm listed as a Public Relations major.
What I really want to do is be an ambassador overseas, ideally in Europe because I was born in England and have british citizenship. I dont necessarily have to be an ambassador but I really want to pursue a career that will allow me to travel and work throughout Europe and maybe even Asia.
I'm not that concerned about being rich or making a lot of money, just enough to support myself comfortably with the bare essentials, housing, food, clothing, entertainment.
I was wondering if my major is a good choice or if I need to go to school at all....I have a social science associate's degree....I just really want to get out of Florida and travel...maybe I could teach english...any advice that you have will be greatly appreciated....if anyone can give me some reference links or knows anyone who does what I've described.
I just want to get out there and experience all the world has to offer, I dont want to be stuck in a cubicle paying a mortgage regretting not having done anything interestiing and inspirational with my life.

Ambassadorships are political appointments, at least for US ambassadors. They tend to go to whoever can raise the most money for the presidential campaign of the winner. |

If you want to be an Ambassador in Europe, perhaps you should contact a few embassies and ask to speak to human resources to determine what the qualifications are to become one and to apply for that type of job. You could even try contacting an embassy in the U.S. to get some ideas. |
