My professor told me that he will know if he can have me intern in his office, but he did not?
My professor announced in class that there is an internship available in his office and told us that if we are interested we can email him our resumes and cover letters. I gave him mine in a hard copy the week after and asked him if it was still available, and he said yes. He told me I did not need to submit a cover letter because he knows me well (I have had him for a couple of classes). But, he never got back to me and I figured he gave the internship to someone else. About a week later I asked him about it and he said that they still had not made a decision about it, but they will for sure by the weekend. He kind of hinted that he definitely wants me to be one of the interns.
Last weekend I asked him about it after class and he said that his plan is to bring three interns (me being one of them) to work for him (He is a partner in a big law firm), but he wants to make sure that there is a substantial project that we would be working on. He said that by Wednesday he would know for sure. I spoke to him on the phone today about the final and he did not mention anything about it. He said that he had not been in the office in the past couple of days because he was sick, so I do not know if that has anything to do with the fact that there was no decision made.
Should I just forget about it? I do not want to keep asking him and come across as pushy.
Or should I just wait and see? if so, how long should I wait before I know that it is not happening.
If he realized that it is not possible to have me and the other 2 interns working for him this summer, would he inform us that it did not work out?
THANKS!

Better to play waiting game. Just don't wait do your work and plans if he will need you he will call otherwise not. So don;t bother about it. Have a great day. |

Myself I believe that letters are good, providing they are created utilising good grammar and spelling (always use a spill chucker!). You can find some good instruction for writing letters by checking out the resource in the box below, it's got a lot of alternative stuff about job hunting as well. |
