My Manager and Supervisor is trying to make me the permanent trainer?
I'm training someone new for the first time and so far, things are going really well. Because of that, my Manager and Supervisor is looking to make me the permanent trainer.
However, training is really stressful and I don't ever want to do it again (especially since I'm not getting paid extra to do it). How do I tell them that without seeming like a bad employee?

I would let them know that while you are flattered that they like the job you are doing you would prefer to do XYZ instead of training. (Would you feel differently if you were getting paid more? If so, then let them know you are glad they like the job you are doing but since it is above the duties of what you were hired for you would like to get financially compensated for the extra work you are doing. Keep in mind,to your advantage, the better you train people the easier it is for the company. You will save them lots of money in retention, not having to recruit new employees, train them, etc.) |
