McDonald's Interview?

MickaelaBaby!MickaelaBaby!

I'm 18 years old and just scheduled an interview for McDonald's. I know whats gonna happen, because Ive been to several interviews at places like this. What I would like to ask is how should I dress for this? I usually wear black business pants, and a white button down shirt. (it looks very professional) But I'm thinking I should dress it down a little since it is mcdonalds. also, I'm 11 weeks pregnant would they care?

Right now its not their business if your pregnant... they can't deny a job because of that, and i don't believe you have to provide that info... when it becomes more obvious, more appropriate to tell them in 3-4 months, then they are required to give you the time off you need... however that time off is often less than what you need, but i suppose the better thing to say is they are required to give you some time off (not sure how much)..

i would dress down a little, but not a ton. and a lot of times interviews at mcdonalds are just formalities of offering you a job (they are often that desperate)... just be positive, smile a lot, answer the questions to the best of your abilities (and answer with what they want to hear), and make sure they know you want the job.

good luck

Hi,

If you are in the US I don't believe they can legally discriminate against you for being pregnant. Congratulations! I hope everything goes well for you and your family.

I think you should look neat and clean. Don't dress down. You are trying to tell the person who is hiring you that you want to work there and dressing nicely says that. Looking professional is excellent.

Wear a simple but nice blouse or polo shirt, khaki's and casual shoes (no sneakers). Just do not bring any Ipod and turn your cell phone before you get in. Lastly since you are pregnant, you should let them know so that you are not exposed to anything that can bring harm to you. And they can not discriminate you if you are pregnant.

No, do not dress it down. It doesn't matter where you interview; dressing nicely shows that you care about making a good impression and being professional. You can never be too dressed up but you can certainly be dressed too casually.

They will not care now that you're pregnant, so don't mention it unless they specifically ask if you would miss some days in the near future. However, if you are actually hired then you need to bring it up ASAP. That way they're not blindsided when you show up one day and it's suddenly obvious that you're pregnant.
