Just started working at subway...please help!! need opinions! please!!!?

What should I do??? I just started working a subway two days ago. Both days were only a couple hours and they were over lunch hour so i thought it was pretty busy and overwhelming. idk what to think...i know the first few days of a job are always hard, but i just do not enjoy this at all! they don't really explain anything to you...like what goes on each type of sub. there are little pieces of paper hanging up that says what each sub gets but when theres a line of 20 people i feel that i don't have time find the piece of paper that says what the sub gets because someone else if trying to tell me the next kind of sub to make, telling me to get the stuff out of the toaster or microwave, etc. also, if they do explain something, they say it once and don't help you the first time through...so it was very overwhelming on the first day when the manager rattled everything that i would be doing at the job and how to do it. if thats not enough...the employees are the worst! theres one person there who doesn't give you the time of day. god forbid you have to ask a simple question like "is this the hearty italian bread etc." and if you're lucky they will mutter an inaudible one word answer while avoiding looking at you at all costs. the only time they even look at you is to give you a frequent glare. but this employee talks to her "friends" just not me. i try to be nice and everything but no matter what she won't give me the time of day (lets refer to her as Jane). her other friend thats an employee acts the same way when "jane" is around but when "jane" isn't around, the other employees can be decent to work with. i don't know what to do.. i have another job but thats only like 10 hours a week (im in high school). so what should i do, i hate the job and dread going there everyday, and i LOVE my other job, but i really need both because i need money to get my first car and insurance. is it worth it even though i hate the job, or maybe im just judging too soon..? what do you think?

Is there anyone you can speak to besides the manager? There must be someone higher up - a supervisor - that you can talk to. Explain that you had limited / no job training, and cannot provide the level of customer service that you believe is necessary for the job. Explain that, in order to be comfortable and make the customers comfortable, you need more practice.

As for 'Jane', there is not much you can do. You cannot change how other people act, you can only change yourself. There will always be people like her in a team environment. You will not earn her respect by acting overly-nice. Act strong and professional around her, not friendly. She made it clear that she does not want to be friends.

If no one helps you learn how to make sandwiches, and you continue to be miserable, then search for another job. When you find it, quit the job at subways. You are in high school; your work is a priority, and you do not want your job interfering with your school productivity.
