Currently I'm a hairstylist[colorist] thinking that I may wanna switch jobs. I've graduated high school and went to college for a little while. The only thing I "have" to show for anything is my Cosmetology license....but I don't want to keep doing hair. I want to do something else..like get an office type job, but have no idea where to look or if I would even be able to find anything. It's like starting all over. I don't want to go back to school. Maybe I should just stick to what I'm doing..I dunno..any ideas?????? websites?????? lol....

thanks

Searching for a job is tough, especially if it's months since you previously did it! I was jobless for the last month, but I uncovered the site in the box below which is very helpful in so many ways. By taking their advice, in a couple of weeks I soon got myself a job.

Have you tried temping? Temp agencies are some of the only places hiring right now and it's a great way to get experience in different types of companies. Some agencies specialize in specific fields -- medical or legal or accounting for examples. But others have a whole range of positions open. Check out a few agencies and find out if they're right for you. And if you do well, you'll be asked to do temp to perm jobs. In those, you work for maybe 3 months at one company and if you and the employer think you're a fit, you'll get hired full-time.

Craigslist.org is a great website for job search, however, you will run into a lot of competition. Good luck!
