I don't consider working hard at something you love to be frivolous or a waste of time. What I do suggest is that you also have a backup plan/set of skills to fall back on whether that be college, technical training, apprenticeship or some other type of acquired learning. Perhaps think about all the different abilities involved with running a business and creative enterprise that can be carried into other jobs and consider pursuing some extra training in one of those skills as well.

That way, you further your ability to pursue your dream and if the dream ultimately isn't giving you enough to provide for yourself, you'll have something to fall back on and possibly help keep the dream afloat by providing a bit of extra income.

Well with an internet business in jeweleryyou need A LOT of start-up cash. And if you fail which (90% of businesses do) you will run up tremendous debt. So be weary, it might be a good idea to have a second plan in case you do fail. It takes not only initiative, extreme hard work and lots of time to do what you are planning but it also take tremendous luck. I wish you the best and hope you're successful in the future.

Well, a very large percent of businesses fail, so you are putting yourself at MORE risk, not less.

Go to college and learn a marketable, in-demand skill (like nursing, pharmacy, accounting, etc). DON'T RACK UP DEBT. I did 60 hours of prereqs while working, then enrolled in nursing school to get my BSN and we are paying for it as we go.

There is no need to finance college; pay as you go.

In short, if you want to take that risk, then do it, but have a college education to fall back on. It is not "wasting" your time; it is insurance. There is no reason that you can't have a Bachelor degree and become a famous singer or jewelry designer.

Start at a community college. It is very low cost and many places offer the same education as a 4 year. Their major selection may not be as extensive but it gives you time to get general education credits while you figure out what you want to do. I changed my

major like 5 times. If you do well you can always try to land a scholarship which will help pay for a more expensive 4yr school. Unless you are a sports star or incredibly lucky, college is mandatory nowadays. It can also be very enjoyable! Sign up for extracuriculars and use the resources the school offers. You will also meet some great people!

You seem to have the passion, so I would say go for it.

Like you said you won''t have the debt.

And if you went to a state college it wouldn't cost as much as say Stanford.

But where will the $$$ come from to get you started in doing something you really have the passion for, and really like doing.
