I am doing a report on careers for my English class and wanted to know if skateboarding is considered a career or not.

I'd say yes. You are "bending" the definition of a "career" but hey...if u are a professional, and make money doing so....its just as much a career as anything else

If your really good than u can consider it a career otherwise

i would call it a "Hobby" rather than a career

it doesnt hurt to have a back up plans if skateboarding doesnt turn out to be a "career" :)

Only if you get paid after winning tournaments and get endorsement deals from advertisers. It does have a "pro tour" so yes it can be one.

99.999999 percent of the time, it's not a career. It's only a career if you're making enough money by skateboarding to pay your expenses.

Now, if you were writing a story about how to make skateboarding a career, and you talked about how famous skateboarders make their money (prizes, endorsements) and what they went through to make skateboarding a career instead of just a hobby, I would think that would be OK for your English report.
