Is not having a job really a bad thing?

Call me crazy but I've been reading a lot of articles online about self employment and not working a normal job Im beginning to think this stuff is legit¦..

First let me start by saying that a few months ago I was unemployed for four months straight and I was happier than I've been in years. Dont get me wrong I wasnt a lazy bum though. I spent most of that time with my kids and helping my family . And although I used up part of my savings living off of it, if I had wanted to I could have made money doing things from home but instead I just got a job.....

I have a lot of experience in web design and right now Im doing HR work which is not what I want to be doing all my life... Im being to think that I'd be better off working from home on my own time. But society tells you that in order to be successful you HAVE to have a job....

Im being to doubt this logic.... Are we just selling out and settling for whatever we can? What happened to goals and ambitions? I know most people are just like me struggling to make it by day to day and still have gas money at the end of the week. But what if theres another way and we just chose to go with the flow¦.

What do you guys think?

Sometimes you have sacrifice dreams to live in reality and get by. Or atleast put them lower on your priorities. Especially if you have kids...they should be your number one priority, not chasing a dream and being broke.
