Is my male boss lacking common sense/sensitivity or is he just plain stupid?

I went on a trip with my boss to Kenya for six months to work at our office there.

In the second month I caught malaria and was hospitalised. He didn't care at all and was just worried about when I would come back to work.

I had internet access in the hospital and he emailed me work and asked me if I could do this thing for him, not even mentioning that I was in hospital, on two IVs for malaria. I only missed a few days of work, because he didn't want me to be away.

Then I got so run down that this past week I have caught severe pneumonia and was hospitalised for another four days. This guy honestly seems like a complete idiot, cause the day after I got out of hospital he emailed to ask why I wasn't at work, even though I told him I would be away and then he sent me work to do at home.

This is just terrible! These are serious illnesses but he seems oblivious. He is an intelligent man, but lacking a sensitivity chip.

Yeah bosses nowadays just dont care about us. just about money and their lives... for example, my boss calls me like 25 hours a day, asked me to work on weekends, told me to forget my lunch time and I just told him that I dont live for my work, I work for living.... then he stopped it... on your case, you have very serious illnesses, talk to him showing he can not do it, because while you accept everything he does, he'll keep on doing it... and if u be fired, look for a lawyer and you boss will have serious problems... you can have the control if you try so...

He sounds like an a*shole to me. He only cares about work and money obviously. But sadly, a lot of bosses seems to be this way.
