Is it necessary to be stylish for an engineering job?

I think it is not necessary at all.1 girl told me that it is necessary to be stylish for being modern.she also told that we should read fashion magazine,we should know about film world and rich class to be modern.these make us smart.what do you think?if an engineer is reading it can you suggest me anything?

I would recommend look nice for interviews, but stylish shouldn't be a requirement. You don't want to look like a bum, but you don't need to look like you stepped out of a fashion magazine, especially if you will look awkward. Plus what would films help you do with engineering? |

Most engineers wouldn't know what style was if it bit them on the ***. Presentation does count for something, but reading fashion magazines is a bit extreme. |
