Is it appropriate to apply for a job again?

I applied by email to a job posting but have not heard back. I know they're still hiring because the job posting is still up. Should I send my resume again and/or phone and ask if I the position is still available? I'd really love to work at this place..Need your advice please! Thank you.

I would say no because if you have already applied and still waiting for a response. They will either process yours and call you for an interview. This can take long and lots of things can happen between they pick up your resume and to the point calling you in.

If you call and apply again through email, they will just find you annoying. The thing is, you never know who's at the other end of the mailbox or who the receipient is.

Years ago I applied to a company, a international company for a job. I really wanted that job so I called to follow up and see whether they have made a decision and what not! I called and left voicemails 2-3 times but no response. Persistence drove me and I finally got a person picking up, she is the HR manager, and I started with an apology: Sorry I am calling in regards to my application. I apologized if I have bothered you.... SHE said: YES You are very annoying....

So I wouldn't re-apply UNLESS you are not sure if your email has gone through and you can call and check or re-submit... Otherwise, I would just leave it

Absolutely. Persistance shows the employer that you're really interested in the possition and makes them more likely to hire you.

It's important to have a good resume, it is worth taking the time to create something that looks great and does the job right. The site in the box below has loads of data on resumes and assistance with alternative vocations.

Email applications do not qualify for an actual interview - you must go in person - talk to a person in charge of hiring.
