First off you need to go to a truck driving school. Then you have to find a company that hires students. This will also mean lower pay if you can find a company to hire you. Usually insurance companies require two years experience, which is why only the self insured companies take on students. Base pay is in the $28,000 to $34,000 range. Boring? Have you ever traveled across the country? The scenery is amazing and new people are all around. Besides, the radios in the trucks are more often satellite or cd players that offer constant entertainment. I've been driving since 1985 and would not rather be doing anything else. |
