I am 16 years old and i work for my dad. He does mostly landscaping and hidroseeding. On alot of jobs i run the bobcat and I really like being behind the machine. So i asked my dad about a job working manly in machinery that pays well. And he told me crane operators make good money. But another question i have is, besides a two-three week training crouse what two-four year college degree would i get for operating a crane?

You don't.

And you DON'T learn anything from a two week course.

You join the International Union of Operating Engineers TWO YEAR apprenticeship program.

You can work duiring the apprenticeship.

Please keep in mind that being an operator is a dangerous job, as are all construction jobs.

But if it's want you want, it's worth it.

Look at this.

You don't need a degree. You just take the course. But no, it's a horrible career choice. Depending on where you work, you may only get paid about $11 an hour.
