I am currently going to school and am struggling...I have been trying to get a job since september of last year (2009)...I have failed. I have graduated highschool and have my high school diploma. I am really looking for a part-time full-time job that will be able to support myself, my child, and my bills. I currently don't have a vehicle any more considering i had to sell it to pay bills. I am running out of options! What is the point of me attending college if i can't get a job now? Summer job is fine. Mornings perferably. Someone please help or we will be on the streets. Chicago Illinois=> South Suburbs the Heights. Please

Congratulations on attending school, stick with it, I know its a challenge, but you will be much better off down the road. Try Work Source, http://chicagoworkforceboard.com/, your state, local and country agencies. Have you considered working from home, I have been doing that for 5 years, not the huge money making scams, but legitimate jobs, depending on your skills you can usually earn between $9-$15/hr. You would need a computer, high speed internet and in some cases (not always) a land line phone. If interested visit: a work from home forum http://www.wahm.com/forum/. There are many people there who will answer your questions. Finally visit here http://howtoworkfromhome-demi.blogspot.com for daily leads and tips on avoiding the scams. Stay away from any job that asks you for money or promises an unreasonable salary. Best wishes.

For extra cash, you might be able to donate plasma at a blood bank. My husband does it and its fifty bucks every three or four days. If you meet the physical requirements you should check it out.

Go to your local one stop Center or Work Source and they will help you find a job right away along with maybe helping you pay your bills. Best of luck!

Over 31 million Americans are desperate for work. There are fewer jobs now than there were in 1999, and tens of millions more people. You have tons of competition for anything, which means you have to have skills, you have to be able to DO something that is valuable enough to pay for. Focus on what you can do. And learn how to market yourself effectively. Plus be extremely diligent and persistent in your job hunting!

Babysitting? Housecleaning? Laundry &/or ironing? Print & put up flyers at supermarkets, laudromats, anywhere there is a public bulletin board. Maybe your local library has a public bulletin board where you can post a flyer. You need references. Who knows you and can vouch for your character as well as how good a job you do?

What else can you do? What skills, talents, hobbies, etc? Can you sew, mend, alterations, do you make great tote or handbags you can sell? Or....?

And where's your child support from your child's father? Get it! If you apply for aid, they'll take your child support, so you get it yourself.
