Not putting up with the douche bags you have to deal with already. Sound like a great plan to me.

It all depends how old you are,if you are under 25 i think you only get 120 a fortnight,a little bit more if you are older.if you leave your job you dont get a penny untill at least 20wks..not sure if you get the sack, your better of checking one the goverment web sight all the information is there

To answer this question properly we need more information. What kind of job do you have? How long? Do you have a retirement fund? How old are you?

Generally when you quit a job you do not get benefits except your retirement account that you can move elsewhere. If you are looking for unemployment, forget it. You cannot collect it if you quit.

If you are really that miserable, maybe you should cut your losses and move on.

I doubt that you would be entitled to any unemployment benefits because you quit your job...you can apply, but I think they will be denied. Each state is different, so google their website: Like in New York it is:https://ui.labor.state.ny.us. So, no job, no money, no rent. Sounds like a plan. A better plan would be to stick it out long enough to find another job...then quit. Hope this helps.

If you quit, you aren't entitled to anything. You are only entitled to unemployment if you are let go.

Why don't you find another job and wait it out a few more weeks?

You will get nothing for six weeks (maybe longer)if you walk away and then you are allowed to apply for some form of benefit. But after a wage to live on you would find the change to benefits a huge shock to the system.

Walking away may make you feel better but it is so much better and much easier to move from a job to another job and then you do not get a 'blip' in your employment history that will cause you issues later on when you look for work. Any future employer will hesitate when they know you walked away from one.

The current employment situation is also very poor at the moment, so it is a really risky thing to do.

Take the time to look at other options instead like retraining, apprenticeship, further education and qualifications leading to uni or something.

There are loads of opportunities out there but this is not the way to do it.

What plans do you have to earn $$ once you walk out of a paying job?

W/ the Economy struggling in some areas desperately, ppl will do any kinds of jobs. Your job can be filled, will another Employer hire you with a negative reference--probably not when others are better at completing jobs.

Sadly most of us have had jobs we absolutely hate. All you are doing is running away. The funny thing is those same issues will show up where you go if you don't deal w/ them there.

If you have issues try to solve them, ask to transfer, change your attitude about what you do, find something after work you really enjoy and mark time at work as you look for something else. Unless you are a wizard and very well trained and in much demand--this is an ill thought out plan. You could loose everything--a place to stay and be living in a car or the street.

Also you committed to do the job--now you don't want to, renegotiate it.

Figure out what you want to do and inquire about changing jobs. Don't leave w/o notice. That is the best for future jobs considerations.

As far as what you get--Nothing. They will pay you for the hours worked. Some won't grant any accrued vacation as you left w/o notice, and usually sick time is lost for everyone. Any insurance you have woulld be terminated immediately and you can go Cobra ifyou wantt to keep it.

You could take vacation and sick time to rest and look for another job to use it rather than loose it.

You have to be very careful because you can be disqualified from claiming Job Seekers Allowance if they think you have left your job voluntarily 'without just cause'.

You can read more about it in the link and see if you can make a case for leaving with a 'just cause' so you could get JSA. You're not expected to stay in job that is unsuitable for you, but you have to show you left 'responsibly'.

I'm not sure how it works with housing benefit, you would need to ask your local council about it.

You won't have to go to work anymore. That's about the only benefits you get for walking out on your job for no valid reason.

If you just walk out then you are entitled to ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and rightly so.
