If I hand in my notice, when will I get paid?

Hi, I handed in my notice a week ago and my last working day is today as the rest of the notice period I am taking the holidays owed to me. I usually get paid on the last working day of the month but as today is my last working day, should I get paid today? At Christmas they pay us on the last day we are in the office i.e. 22 Dec rather than 31 as per rest of the year, so should I get paid today as I am not in work ever again?

Hope you can help as I would like some advice before I broach it with my employers!!

You will get paid on the same day as everybody else.

In this context the words "working day" refer to Mondays to Fridays, and not days on which you personally may or may not work.

Generally, when you leave you will not get paid until the normal pay day. In any case, you are still technically employed when you are on holiday day, so your official leaving date will be the day your notice expires.
