I want to work at the front desk at a hotel checking people in and stuff?

Obviously you dont need a degree for that but what other stuff do they look for??? i put in an application for differant hotels including the one that i've worked at for a year as a housekeeper and even they wont hire me and never said why

I work front desk at a marriott -

some things they look for are:

customer service skills

good written and verbal skills (good at communicating with people)

reliability

honesty

did i mention customer service skills?!

knowledge of the area in which the hotel is located (guests will constantly be asking you what there is to do in the area; restaurants, sight-seeing, ect)

working well under pressure

the ability to successfully multitask

and excellent customer service skills!

some guests are a pain-in-the-*** while others are jewels. good luck!
