I want to be a part time freelance writer and need to know what does it take to be one.?

I am not very proud of my English writing skills. How do I improve ?

Do I like need to read hell lot of books to become knowledgeable enough?

I recently started writing a personal blog and um I can say for sure that it's anything but professional writing..lol

I have become really interested in this writing field lately so asking.

Help ?

Also are there any websites out there where I can like post my articles and get them reviewed by professional writers because that would be awesome.

Start by taking extra special care to write proper English on the Internet. Think about it: the Internet is the only place where your words are published for free. Take a moment to check your spelling and punctuation. No one will care to read your work if they cannot understand what you are trying to say.

While reading does help develop language and writing skills, analyze the quality of your reading material first. Are you reading other freelance writers' material, or is this a New York Times bestseller when it was first written a hundred years ago?

As with any writing, look to constantly improve your skill. Always revise your previous work, and yes, you must read to get better.
