I really want to speak to the manager! should i?
Okay so on Sunday i received a call from the grocery store that
they would like to see me on Wednesday for an interview.
but i missed the call because i was in the shower, and the manager
left a message saying to call Monday after 2 to schedule a time, and
she left a number.
On Monday, around 2:30 i called the number she left.
NO ANSWER. i called again. no answer.
i called for about the next five hours. NO ANSWER.
i was so upset. on Tuesday i called the number she had called me from
and finally was able to speak to the manager. [she had left the wrong number
for me to call her back on] and we scheduled an interview for Wednesday at ONE.
so on Wednesday i showed up at around 12:45, and told the customer service people
i had an interview with Taylor. they told me she was doing another interview and
to wait in the waiting area and she would come get me. i waited until 2 PM.
still a no show. i was getting up to leave when the manager finally came over to me
and told me that she had a lunch date with a friend at this time and i could stay and
wait until she was done or reschedule for friday. of course i rescheduled.
so i had another interview for Friday at ONE pm and i showed up around 12:50.
the customer service people informed me Taylor was out sick.
she didn't call to reschedule or anything. i went through hell getting up
to the store both times and i still never got an interview.
im very upset. i want to call the district manager and report her.
do you think i should?

Taylor's behavior is very unprofessional for someone who is in a managerial position. Firstly, she gives you the wrong contact telephone number. Secondly, she goes to lunch knowing that you were waiting to be interviewed. Thirdly, she tells you to reschedule for Friday and calls in sick without having you notified that she was out sick. I think that you were treated shabbily. Furthermore, I think that Taylor was inconsiderate of your time and efforts. |

It is extremely unlikely that making her look bad will make you look good to her supervisor. Is your objective to get a job with a rare opportunity to quickly replace these disinterested and incompetent people, or get even? At least you are in the pipeline of a bad economy.
