I quit my current job before getting a new one, what should I say in my next interview?

I quit my last job because I didn't like it, what should I say to my next interviewer when she ask why I quit? If I answer seeking better opportunity will it be too simple? Should I tell her the truth I don't like my previous job? or any good reason there? Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Keep it short and simple. For instance you could say that opportunities for growth and promotion were not available so you decided to make a career change. Say as little as possible and be extremely positive about it and then move onto the next question. If they have you in for an interview they are probably not too hung up on the reason why you left.

"I'm an idiot" would be a reasonable start.

Seriously, you can say all you want to about looking for better opportunities, but they'll still wonder why you didn't stay with the job you had until you found a better one.
