I messed up uni due to depression, but now I'm much better and looking for some advice as to what to do next?

Hey, so I got depressed during uni and now have only managed to get a 3rd class degree. The whole point in me doing a degree was to get good qualifications so that I could emerge as highly employable to get a good job. So now I'm wondering what can I do next to impress potential employers. I have two ideas: 1) work on a completely voluntary basis for 6 months purely for work experience; to show interviewers that I am determined to work hard for what I want.
or, 2) Do a postgraduate qualification, but I can't do a Masters due to my poor degree.
Has anyone got any ideas as to what I can do after uni to better myself? Many thanks yahoo answerers!
