I left job due to anxiety now having trouble getting another job?

Last year I had such bad anxiety that I had to leave work. Well the manager hates me at that place, but I have no other referees. I got a job this week pending work reference and guess what happened. I have just been notified that I was unsuccessful. This is so unfair that someone is able to affect your future job prospects and the fact that Ihave a condition I feel like I am discriminated again. It looks like my working life is over as what else can I do, she hates me

Keep trying and learn from this - never leave a job w/o another in hand...it's one of the first rules of employment.

As for her badmouthing you, chances are slim that she is doing this - usually for legal reasons. If you gave notice, you should be OK bcz all they can generally ask is if, when, how long you worked there and if you gave notice
