I just got a job today...but having some mixed feelings for sure?

I just got hired today as a dietary aide in a pretty nice nursing home. Its something I have experience in and i'm happy to be doing it again...only problem is i do have a bachelors degree and i am considered overqualified for this job technically. I've been job searching for a few months now and jobs are so hard to come by, and this one actually pays fairly well considering its an entry level job. has anyone ever felt like this? happy to have found a job but feeling ashamed like i should have a better one cause of a degree? thanks so much in advance

I'd take the job and do the best you can during work hours so you can possibly move up in the company. I'd also take time out of your off-time to keep looking for a better job. This way you can earn money (and experience), but not settle for something you aren't happy with. It's tough to find jobs in this economy so I certainly wouldn't throw one away. If you get discouraged with the job hunt or get comfortable in the job, just pick up the job search again at a later date.

Yes, I'm in the same kind of situation. I have a bachelor's degree, but I'm working at a call center right now, because that's the only job I can find. It's a well-paying call center job for an entry level job (because there's a union), but it's not as much as I was making before, and it's definitely not what I want to do with the rest of my life. Then, when people at work ask me what I did before starting at the call center, they ask me, "What are you doing *here*?" It's pretty frustrating. I'm glad I have a job with benefits and pay enough to where I don't have to move in with anybody, but I didn't go to school for four years to answer phones all day.

I would be happy if I had a job like this . I say stick with the job and I'm pretty sure in no time you would probably move up to something better just have patience.
