I have had 2 phone interviews and 2 face to face interviews with a company. i am just out of college and it is an entry level position. the last interview (second face to face) was with the general manager for a few minutes then i shadowed for half of the day (from 8:30am-almost noon). after the shadowing was over the GM and a supervisor guy who would move me from person to person throughout the shadowing sat down with me again. the gm said i was engaged as he walked around and listed. he then asked what i could do for the company. the supervisor guy said nothing and i was eventually finished. i shook thier hands and was on my way. i forgot to get his business card so could not write afollow up email. this was monday, and today is thursday. i am worried, but things seemed to have gone so well..... he did say that they were goin out of town for a day or two and to not panic too much if i didnt hear back (or something along those lines). was that a way of them saying u will never hear from us again? help!

Note: during my frist face to face interview i spoke with someone who i did manage to find the email address of. i got an email back soon after i thank you emailed him saying i could come to the GM interview/shadow. I emailed this first guy after the shadow (since i had his email) and said good seeing you again blah blah by the way could i have the gm's email. this was tuesday. have not heard back for him or the gm or human resources with offer. so i at least tried to get the GMs email..

You did everything right. The only thing you could add is to have asked them as you were leaving "Is there actually a job open today or are you just planning for the future."

You could also ask 'How many people have done the shadowing so far".

And as you get more confident ( and get older) you can just try to get a direct answer "Are you seriously considering me for this job".

Keep applying at other places and never look back.
