I hate my job what do I do?
I took a job working as an assistant to this event planner since that's what I've always wanted to do but when I took the job I thought I would only be working for her and not for everyone in her office and I also thought I would be doing more then what I'm doing. I mean I seriously thought I would be the one helping plan the events and meeting with clients but instead all I do is call and confirm their appointments with clients and with venues, and worse then that they have me running mediocre type errands like getting coffee and running to Staples for office supplies. When I try to put my input into something I get snapped at with things like "That's not your job!" I've been doing this for a month and nothing has changed plus it doesn't seem like any of them likes me except for the lady who hired me that I thought I would be working for. I've tried to be nice and start conversations with them or even join in their conversations but they always ignore me or just look at me like I'm crazy. I really want to quit because like I said I'm not doing anything like I thought I would. Should I quit or what?

Sounds like every job I've been at. Starts off all cool, everyone's nice to ya the first couple of days...and then honeymoon period ends pretty fast. I'd say just start with getting a backup plan lined up -- plan B. Start this as soon as possible, get yourself financially independent early on in your career, then one day, you can do this full-time and not have to worry about the crazy world of employment and working for someone else. |

Well, you cant just quit without another job lined up. Try to find another job first, then quit. |
